Pioneer and solution provider since 1976

LPKF's laser systems are critical to the development and production of printed circuit boards, microchips, automotive parts, solar modules and many other components. With LPKF systems, customers are producing ever smaller and/or more precise components. At the same time, they can increase the functionality of these components and take advantage of new design possibilities. LPKF also offers solutions for the analysis of biological materials in the nanolitre range for pharmaceutical research. The LPKF Glass Foundry supplies customers from various industries with high-precision components made of glass.

Chronicle of LPKF Laser & Electronics SE

1975

In the mid-1970s engineer Jürgen Seebach develops a mechanical process for the production of printed circuit boards and a milling depth limiter. In 1976, a worldwide patent application is filed. 

1976

Foundation of LPKF CAD/CAM Systeme GmbH in Scheffelstraße in Hannnover. The first System for the production of printed circuit boards, the LPKF 39, is presented at the Hannover Fair. 

1984

The bases for a worldwide sales network was laid with the establishment of LPKF in the USA. 

1989

In 1989 LPKF develops a procedure for the laser based printed circuit board structuring.

1991

LPKF Motion & Control GmbH is founded in Suhl. The subsidary develops and implements innovative drive and control solutions. 

1993

LPKF presents the first StencilLaser for the prooduction of SMD stencils 

1994

LPKF Laser & Electronika d. o. o. is founded as a new production location in Slovenia.

1998

LPKF turns to a public limited company and gets listed on the Neuer Markt.  

2000

LPKF Tianjin Co Ltd. is founded in China. LPKF acquires a stake in Laserquipment AG, which develops produces and sells system solutions for laser plastic welding. 

2001

With the MicroLine, LPKF develops and manufactures a laser system for drilling and structuring printed circuit boards.

2006

The LPKF-LDS process is used in the series production of three-dimensonial injection-molded cicuit carriers (MIDs)

2007

The newly founded subsidiary LPKF SolarQuipment GmbH develops and manufactures laser system for structuring thin-film solar cells. 

2008

ProtoLaser S is the world's only laser system  for prototyping that can structure laminated substrates.

2009

The Fusion3D achieves a breakthrough in the mass production of three-dimensonial circuit carriers (laser direct structuring, LDS).

2010

LPKF receives the renowned Hermes Award for the Fusion3D laser scriber. 

2010

The compact UV laser system - ML 1000S combines cutting speed with highest precision in LPKF quality. 

2020

The world’s first table-top laser prototyping system, LPKF ProtoLaser ST fulfills several customer need: high-perfomance prototyping and very gentle material processing.

2020

LPKF joins German Stock Exchange SDAX and TecDAX index.
