Review: productronica

December 2011
LPKF had a record number of visitors at productronica in Munich, which ended in November. About 50 percent more visitors than two years ago came to see the Garbsen-based company’s 120 m2 fair booth. The increased response reflects the growing importance of laser systems in industry and research.

The MicroLine 6000 S (depaneling) and the LPKF Fusion3D 1500 on display were met with particular interest. In both areas, laser depaneling and LDS structuring, the methods are increasingly establishing themselves in the market. LDS is increasingly used in sensor technology, for example in automotive and medical applications.

Just this May Robert Bosch GmbH received the MID Industry Award for an ESP pressure sensor. Alone an industrial global player turning to MID technology further boosted this area. At the same time the range of MID manufacturers expanded in Europe with companies such as Cicor AG, MID-TRONIC GmbH and 2E mechatronic GmbH. Even the number of polymer suppliers for the LPKF LDS method is growing.

The economic state of visitors at productronica dealing with MID technology left a quite favorable impression. Despite the financial crisis MID-processing companies report a good line-up of orders for 2012.
