LPKF Laser & Electronics AG presented a full solution for MID prototypes and small volumes using the LDS method at the SMT in Nuremberg early May. There certainly was no lack of visitors to the LPKF booth.
 
The attention was primarily on the new Fusion3D 1000 laser structurer, which in addition to prototyping can also be used for small and medium volume production.

Aside from the LDS technology LPKF also introduced its new series of circuit board plotters at the SMT. At the joint IZM booth 434 the Garbsen company also showed off its MicroLine UV depaneling systems in a complete production line.

SMT/Hybrid/Packaging is Europe’s largest industry exposition for microelectronics system integration with 537 exhibitors in 2011. According to organizers the expo had a total of 22,000 visitors over three days. The next SMT will be held May 8th – 10th, 2012.
