Entry: LPKF Fusion3D 1000 for Prototyping and Small Batches

June 2011
The new LPKF Fusion3D 1000 provides an entry into Laser Direct Structuring (LDS) at a comparatively low investment. The laser structure can be used for LDS prototyping as well as for small and medium volume production.

The low priced LPKF Fusion3D 1000 facilitates near-series LDS prototyping for 3D Interconnect devices without removing expensive high-volume systems form production.

From a technological perspective LPKF Fusion3D 1000 is based on the largest production system, the LPKF Fusion3D 6000. The main difference: the Fusion3D 1000 only has one laser head while using the same laser processing unit as on the 6000-series platform. Also identical are the CAM software, production parameters, the solid granite base on the height-adjustable working surface, and the machining arrays. This allows the parameters determined during prototyping to be transmitted directly to the production system.

The system is on casters and can easily be moved. The working surface can be equipped with custom jigs. The associated LPKF ProtoPaint LDS method can be used to construct functional prototyping best-case in one single workday.
