The Dresden plant construction firm XENON, a worldwide leading supplier of fully automated production equipment for mechatronics systems, introduced its 3D assembly module for MID assemblies at the SMT-Hybrid-Packaging trade show in Nuremberg.
 
The module is part of a processing line for assembling, installing and inspecting MID interconnect devices. The assembly equipment is modular and covers the entire production process from incoming goods inspection to final assembly and various functional tests.

This all-in-one solution is especially used in medical technology and the automotive sector. The automotive supplier Kromberg & Schubert has been using a Xenon 3D assembly line for the series production of motorcycle combo switches since 2008. Multiple plug connectors and a total of 14 other electronics components are built into the interconnect devices manufactured using LDS.
