The materials specialist PTS has developed an innovative plastic on the basis of PA 6.6 polyamide. It can be cross-linked by irradiation due to its crystalline and amorphous components.
LDS-capable granulate for injection molding
After successful laser structuring or subsequent metallization, the plastics are put through an irradiation machine without having to be unpacked for this. Thus irradiation can even be done in a cardboard box, for example. The result is that the amorphous ingredients are realigned and more strongly linked by means of gamma or beta rays.
The advantage: the material thereby becomes more resistant to outside influences. Thus developers profit in particular from applications that require high physical resistance, e.g., to extreme temperatures, shocks, vibrations or impacts. The plastic is given the designation V-PTS-CREAMID-A3H2G7LDS*M9200.
