A new interactive showroom illustrates what is required in the laboratory and production facility for the laser direct structuring (LDS) process. The LDS laboratory for example shows a computer workstation where the layouts of MIDs are created with 3-D CAD software.
 
The granulate for the plastic blank, plastic colors, LDS paint for the laser-activated coating, a laser structurer and a solution for metallization are also available. After successful prototyping, serial production starts next door to the right in the production hall with customized LDS systems, metallization and SMD assembly.
