Since this September, Ensinger Compounds in Nufringen, near Stuttgart, has been a new licensee of LPKF. Starting immediately, Ensinger is preparing a new LDS-capable polyetheretherketone (PEEK). The high-performance plastic is extremely temperature-resistant and in addition has outstanding chemical resistance. The long-term use characteristics of the inherently flame-resistant thermoplast are far above 200 degrees Celsius. Due to its remarkable material characteristics, PEEK is gaining more and more significance in electronics. There could be high-value LDS applications in aeronautics, the automobile industry, medical technology and in the pharmaceutical industry, for example.
