LPKF at Space Tech Expo Europe

Ideal for demanding materials: The LPKF ProtoLaser R4 works with a picosecond laser and is particularly precise and gentle on sensitive materials

Several halls in Bremen were dedicated to technologies related to the adventure of space. At the Space Tech Expo Europe from November 19 to 21 in Bremen, LPKF presented the ProtoLaser R4 in Hall 7/Stand Y18.
With its picosecond laser, this ProtoLaser is suitable for the material-friendly processing of thermally sensitive materials as well as for cutting or removing ceramic materials, ablating transparent thin films or removing metal layers from plastic films. Double-sided RF structures on thin, flexible carriers? No problem.

The ProtoLaser R4 comes with a specially adapted version of the intuitive LPKF CircuitPro system software. This allows demanding laboratory jobs to be completed optimally in the shortest possible time, with extensive material and process libraries helping with this.

"In space technology, we often have to deal with special materials. The laser process is a very clean, residue-free process and avoids additional material contamination from chemicals, lubricants, etc.," notes Lars Führmann, Sales Director Rapid Prototyping. The compact picosecond laser can process almost all materials - ideal when particularly sensitive or particularly hard materials need to be structured.
