General
The LPKF ProtoMat S100 is a compact system for PCB prototyping and low volume production, especially for RF and microwave applications.
With its unique precision, the ProtoMat S100 is particularly suitable for machining soft and flexible substrates with sensitive surfaces.
With a maximum milling speed of 6 inch per second, a resolution of 0.01 mils (0.25 microns) and a variable speed 100,000 RPM spindle motor, the ProtoMat S100 produces extremely fine structures on all types of substrates.
It is also the ideal system for a whole range of applications thanks to its flexibility and high speed: in addition to the production of multilayer PCBs, it also easily machines three-dimensional components.
The system is compact and ready to use with plug-and-play software. Its high level of automation makes in-house prototyping easier than ever.
Features
Automatic tool change
The automatic tool change can automatically change up to ten different milling and drilling tools during the production process, which saves operating time and enables the circuit board plotter to work unsupervised and more effectively.
Non-contact machining-depth limiter
The non-contact machining-depth limiter avoids contact with the material surface is perfect for machining soft and flexible materials with sensitive surfaces.
Acoustic Cabinet
The ergonomically designed acoustic cabinet encloses the working area and minimizes noise emissions.
CAM system software
Each circuit board plotter includes the system-optimized LPKF CircuitCAM and LPKF BoardMaster software. These easy to operate tools import all conventional CAD data and control the circuit board plotter production process.
Motorized Z-axis
With its motorized Z-axis, the LPKF ProtoMat S100 is also ideal for machining front panels and housings. Even assembled circuit boards can be easily milled, reworked and depaneled.
Optional equipment
The optional camera system for automatic artwork alignment and the vacuum tabletop for securing the material flat to the worktable are available as optional equipment.
Applications
Production of RF and microwave designs
The use of RF milling tools provide steep, sharp cutting edges for track side walls, as well as minimum and uniform material removal on all standard RF and microwave PTFE-based substrates such as RT/duroid.
Processing of sensitive surfaces
The non-contact machining-depth limiter senses the material surface and controls the penetration depth of the tool into the substrate. Because it avoids contact with the material surface is perfect for machining soft and flexible materials with sensitive surfaces.
3D technology
With its motorized Z-axis, the LPKF ProtoMat S100 is also ideal for machining front panels and housings. Even assembled circuit boards can be easily milled, reworked and depaneled.
Multilayer technology
The S100 comes with a set pin system for proper positioning of double sided and multilayer boards. Even more convenient is the optional camera system, using fiducials for automatic artwork alignment.
