November 2003The ProtoMat H100 PCB plotter achieves the highest precision at twice the operating speed
Garbsen, November 2003 - As the high-end model of the LPKF circuit board plotter family, the ProtoMat H100 sets new standards for PCB prototyping and small series production. With a positioning speed of 100 mm/s, which is twice as fast as previous top-of-the-line systems, and a milling motor speed of 100,000 rpm, the ProtoMat H100 sets new quality and speed metrics for in-house production. The plotter can create 3 mil tracks with 4 mil spacing, which accommodates all state-of-the-art packages, including BGA and mBGA®.
The H100 also maintains a higher average speed by integrating smart path generation. The combination of these features increases the performance factor of this machine 2-3 times. The resolution is also increased five-fold to 1mm, so the H100 can produce 100 µm lines with 100 µm spaces and a minimum drill hole diameter of 150 µm. Now, prototype production of 6 and 8-layer boards can be accomplished in-house comfortably.
Other premium features of the ProtoMat H100 include:
- Fully-Automatic milling depth adjustment for automated production of highly sophisticated circuits and materials
- Integrated vacuum table with automatic suction unit for the fast and secure holding of all substrates, including flex boards
- Automatic fiducial recognition with integrated camera ensures that layers are as congruent as possible during PCB production
- Non-contact air bearing depth adjustment suitable to machine substrates with sensitive surfaces
- Fully-automatic tool changer with software-controlled tool management and tool lifespan control
The ProtoMat H100 provides electronics designers in industry and service bureaus, as well as schools, universities, and research institutes, with a high-end device featuring a wide range of applications and a compelling number of superb technical features.
