Garbsen/Hannover, 22 March 2006 – LPKF Laser & Electronics AG can look back on an extremely successful 2005 financial year. Total turnover was almost 39 per cent up year-on-year at Euro 34.9 million, and reached a new record level in the company's thirty year history. There was also a considerable boost in profits year-on-year. The profit for 2005 exceeds Euro 3 million and was therefore more than triple the previous year's results. The EBIT margin rose to 17.2 per cent over the same period. Around 85 per cent of LPKF's total turnover came from exports.
 
In the 2005 financial year, LPKF AG generated 47.8 per cent of its turnover in Asia. This demonstrates a continuation of the regional shift in turnover towards Asia already observed in previous years. LPKF opened its third and fourth branch offices in China in 2005 at Suzhou (near Shanghai) and in Hong Kong. The production and development divisions in Germany were also strengthened. Business at the German production sites was expanded and investments totalling around Euro 2.3 million are planned in Germany during the ongoing financial year.
The Board of Managing Directors and the Supervisory Board will propose the payment of a dividend of 10 cents per share to the annual general meeting. The dividend last year was 4 cents per share.

LPKF is confident that the upswing will continue in the ongoing financial year. The overall conditions and the orders in hand support a realistic forecast of a total turnover of Euro 41 million in 2006. A further growth in consolidated turnover up to Euro 50 million is considered feasible in the 2007 financial year.
