15/May/2005
Garbsen, May 2005 – LPKF Laser & Electronics AG developed the LDS process, which leveraged the HARTING Mitronics AG to be selected for the „Top 5“ of the Hermes Award, the international technology award of the Hanover fair.
With a trophy money of 100.000 euro it is one of the highest endowed technology prices for the economy. The jury certified all five companies an absolutely outstanding level on the grand opening of the Hanover fair. Winner became the IFM electronics GmbH, the HARTING Mitronics AG won the fourth place. Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and Russian president Vladimir Putin applauded the nominated.
The LDS process (laser direct structuring) integrates high-resolution circuit layouts directly on three-dimensional components and carrier structures. Mechanical and electrical elements are combined to produce extremely small electronic devices. By this the conventional printed circuit board is replaced.
With this laser technology HARTING Mitronics AG produces a microphone module by order of the company Siemens Audiologische Technik GmbH for the large-scale production of the hearing aid Acuris P. The module is equipped with three microphones for providing high-quality hearing acoustics.
