Hanover, 26 March 2002. The global economic slump in the electronics market also had a serious impact on LPKF Laser & Electronics AG, Garbsen near Hanover, in its 25th anniversary year. Many of the expected and acquired orders in 2001 were postponed by potential customers in the light of the uncertain forecasts of future global economic development. As a result, LPKF's group turnover across all segments decreased to EUR 22.98 million ( previous year: 28). It was therefore all the more positive that despite this development, the company managed to present a positive result for the year (EBIT) of EUR 1.97 million (previous year: 6.29). This clearly sets LPKF apart from the other companies on the New Market. As Bernd Hackmann, Chairman of the Board of Directors, said during the presentation of the 2001 accounts at a press conference in Hanover, LPKF managed to maintain its position in the global market at the same level as before.
